I recently stayed at The Scandic Vulkan, and while it may be a bit far from the city center (for walking), it more than makes up for it with its fantastic breakfast, friendly staff, and comfortable accommodations. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the breakfast. Each morning, I was greeted with a bountiful spread that catered to all tastes. The selection was impressive, ranging from pastries to hot options like eggs, bacon, and local specialties. The quality of the food was top-notch, and everything was fresh and flavorful. The breakfast area was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot to start the day. The staff indeed went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable. From the moment I checked in, I was met with warm smiles and a genuine eagerness to assist with any needs or questions. Their friendliness and professionalism added a personal touch to my experience, making me feel right at home. The only downside to this excellent hotel is its distance from the city center. It's further out, so you'll need to factor in some travel time to reach the main attractions and shopping areas. However, this location could be a positive if you're looking for a quieter, more relaxed environment away from the hustle and bustle. Public transportation is accessible, and plenty of good restaurants and coffee shops are nearby. Despite the longer commute to the city center, my stay at The Scandic Vulkan was thoroughly enjoyable. The excellent breakfast and outstanding service from the staff more than compensated for the distance. If you are okay with being a bit further from the action, I highly recommend this hotel and prefer a peaceful retreat with great amenities. It's a hidden gem that offers excellent value for a relaxing stay.

Loved the helpful staff. Hotel decor is very contemporary, artistic, colourful and comfortable which (as artists ourselves), we loved as it created an artistic, welcoming and modern environment 🎨. The art exhibition around the foyer was fabulous adding to the wonderful contemporary feel. Rooms were comfortable, especially the beds and light but warm duvets and pillows. There was no kettle cups etc in the room but the Receptionist provided these when asked. Great view from the room looking to the hillside landscape. Great location for our concert at the Vulkan Arena. Also, the Food halls offered a fantastic range of foods next to the hotel. Breakfast was delicious with a fantastic range of cold and hot foods , tea/coffee etc. We loved our stay and would definitely return. First time in Oslo and we loved it we can't wait to return.

This was our second stay at Scandic Vulkan and we left as happy with the hotel as the first time. The room was nothing special but spacious enough and we had no complaints. We like the location of the hotel - it's only about 15 minutes on foot from the center and you can find nice restaurants walking distance from the hotel. The breakfast was really good and we were especially happy that we could buy a packed lunch and fill our thermoses with coffee - we did that every day and enjoyed it in beautiful weather at Holmenkollen watching biathlon.

The Breakfast is really good. There's a lot of choices. The location is quite near to the centre, I just need to walk for about 5 mins to reach the bus stop. The room is clean, I also like the style/design of the room. I would suggest next time, to a bottle or 2 of water for complimentary. Most of the hotels that I've stayed have complimentary water, especially when guest reach late night and groceries are closed.

We loved the location of this hotel. Right outside the hotel you can find a food hall, cafes, 2 ramen restaurants, a nice park, and bars. Upon walking 5-10 minutes, you can find some pretty cool restaurants and bars as well. We enjoyed being a walking distance from so many places. The hotel was quiet and quaint and we loved the view from our room. Breakfast was also great and the staff was friendly and helpful.
